3/19/2024 0 Comments My buddy doll vs chucky![]() The Chucky Doll Shown Here is From the Childs Play Film 'Bride of Chucky'. Seed of Chucky is a fun, campy horror film, but it would be a lie to say it wasn’t way ahead of its time and does shed light on transgender awareness, gender dysphoria, and maybe, even helped a few people. I actually believe that the 'That Kid' Doll by Hasbro in the 1960s was the True inspiration for Chucky and the 'Good Guys' dolls in the Childs Play Movies. For the time, it is pretty extraordinary. This whole part does, in a way, completely shatter the non-binary subtext as they split the child into two genders instead of just having a non-binary child, but it was 2004. The movies that feature Chucky the killer doll are called the Childs Play movies: Childs Play, Childs Play 2, Childs Play 3, and so on, up to the new sequels, Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky. The film ends with Jennifer Tilly giving birth to two children, a boy and a girl: Glen and Glenda. Is this possibly a metaphor for murdering this toxic trait? Glen/da then murders Chucky, by chopping off his limbs and head, blood gushing everywhere. Chucky denies this idea, adding to his toxic masculinity. Tiffany agrees, suggesting that many people choose not to live as either gender because they don’t feel like they belong to either. They reveal that they don’t know what gender they are, but there is one thing for sure: they don’t want to be a killer. Glen/da looks perplexed, angry, and rather sad. The commercial, with its catchy tune and lyrics, was a hit. When Glen asks their parents why the two of them kill, Tiffany realizes that killing might be wrong and tells Chucky that they must stop killing to set an example for their child. Letter 32 - My Buddy To the money - makers and big timers. They don’t want to be a killer, nor do they know what they want to be at all. They don’t want to kill, and every time they see their parents commit a heinous, brutal murder, they become more and more confused about their identity. Since those dolls looked a lot like Chucky - the Big Bad of the films the line of dolls were effectively scrapped. Trend Killer: The film helped kill off the fad that started with Cabbage Patch dolls and ended with the 'My Buddy' dolls. ![]() Right away, the viewer can see that Glen is not like their murderous parents. : Brad Dourif ad-libbed Chuckys infamous 'fuck you' in the first films elevator scene. Then, Chucky will transfer his soul into Tilly's chauffeur, and Glen/da into the baby. According to the killer couple, Tiffany conducts voodoo to get into her body whichever gender comes out is the gender that Glen/da is. To find out what Glen/da's "true" identity is, the couple decides to artificially inseminate Jennifer Tilly (who is also the voice of Tiffany), an actress Tiffany idolizes. Even creator Don Mancini, who wrote every single film, agrees that his movies were ahead of their time and are, in his words, a “symbol for LGBTQ+ rights,” which he revealed in an interview with Joblo. Right away, Glen is tossed between genders but doesn't really fit into either category. Chucky wants a boy with whom he can commit murders with, so he calls him Glen. It had been a few years since I had been around a My Buddy but in my mind, sitting there at the movies, Chucky was a My Buddy. Tiffany wants a little girl, so she refers to her child as Glenda. You know, if you believe in that sort of thing. When Chucky and Tiffany are introduced to their child, they can’t decide what Glen’s gender is. Considering Gene gave the doll his own name and his own clothes, it almost makes you wonder if Gene didn't send a little piece of his soul into the doll, too. Although Robert would have originally been dressed and painted up like a jester (in case his current look isn't enough to haunt your dreams), the sailor suit he has worn for over a century would have likely been one of Gene Otto's own outfits, handed down to his impish new friend. Built around the turn of the 20th century, Robert is 40 inches tall (human child size!) and stuffed with wood wool, also known as excelsior, made from wood shavings usually used for packaging. Instead, Robert was a one-of-a-kind item meant as part of a window display of clowns and jesters for the Steiff Company, the toy makers who made the original Teddy bear to celebrate Theodore Roosevelt. As Atlas Obscura explains, Robert was not a mass-produced item meant to be a toy for children everywhere. As it turns out, Robert is not just weird, but in fact unique.
